Welcome UnofficialCMO`s


This has been one of my most intense, immersive and fast-growing hobbies...  It is a challenge to our creative selves, to wear the shoes of a different brand that we admire and love every new episode... Becoming for a short period of time their UNofficial Chief Marketing Officer..

If you are a senior leader and or passionate about creativity, i hope you can relate on how important it is and how much maintaining this power alive can help building brands that drive stronger demand,  touch people in meaningful ways from both head and heart.

The consumer landscape and behavior for both B2B and B2C has been evolving fast in the last 5 years but the pandemic is adding even more fuel to this rocket, forcing CMO`s rethink many angles of their strategies to drive real demand, move away from a "fake plastic tree" advertisement, lead with purpose, sustainability and responsibility, and as i touched earlier, engage with more humanity.

The goal of this series is to try to address some of this challenges while having fun creating and exploring ideas with unlimited creative freedom and simplicity, and whenever possible, land on a scrappy but powerful concept.

I am starting the first episodes and hopefully can have some guests in the future to co-create.  Every episode will be our own  "MACKATHON" aka marketing hackathon.

Now the goal here is not to develop a full marketing strategy but borrowing an analogy from the movie inception, finding that one idea that when planted small can grow and become such a strong brand belief, that has so much purpose that can be the foundation for everything else.  In my opinion, this is how we take brands to the next level, drive real demand and engage customers, regardless of industry, size or market...

Now, how do you build a master brand theme or (inception idea) for a brand like SPACEX that can start so small but grow and stretch? That can bring belief and purpose to an already amazing brand and company.

When you think about SPACEX what comes to your mind? A booster rocket landing? Elon Musk?
There are so many powerful angles that becoming their UnofficialCMO gives me goosebumps and gets me REALLY excited... But where are we going? A very simple direction: A Feeling.... 

A very small sensation that can unpack meaning and bring a deep but respectful sensation of nostalgia from the past and extreme excitement and hope for the future...

Welcome back to earth... How did you feel?

Although the video was made in a very scrappy way, could you grasp the feeling and master brand theme? Would you agree with me that every time we think about SpaceX, we see a rocket going up, going down, we see them taking people to space that they are:

REMINDING US TO LOOK UP...

We want this feeling, this nostalgia and excitement to become the main memory for the company, reminding people every time we launch, every time our rockets go up, that they are pushing humanity forward, further away and while doing that, reminding us to look up... back to space!

From this UnofficialCMO to you, hope you have enjoyed episode 1, it represents hundreds of hours of work to "land the rocket" on this idea... This will be our challenge for every episode, i am hoping to have one episode out every couple of months.
